Hobii ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by Fiona Sykes. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Hobii mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Hobii.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

Account details: name, email address, username, and profile photo when you register or sign in with Google or Apple.
User content: patterns (PDF files), videos, photos, and text you upload or post within clubs or your profile.
Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe when you purchase a subscription. We do not store your full card number; Stripe stores it on our behalf.
Communications: messages you send to other users or to us.

Information collected automatically:

Device information: device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers.
Usage data: features you use, screens you visit, actions you take, and timestamps.
Location data: approximate or precise location when you grant permission (used for club discovery and map features). You can revoke location permission at any time in your device Settings.
Log data: IP address, crash reports, and performance data.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your account.
To deliver the features of the Service, including clubs, content sharing, and community feeds.
To process payments and manage your subscription.
To provide location-based features (club discovery, maps) when you grant permission.
To communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests.
To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Use.
To analyse usage patterns and improve the Service.
To comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:

Other users: your username, profile photo, and content you choose to post are visible to other Hobii users according to your privacy settings.
Service providers: we use the third-party services below to operate the Service. Each provider has their own privacy policy.
- Supabase – database and authentication infrastructure (supabase.com/privacy).
- Stripe – payment processing (stripe.com/privacy).
- Google Sign-In / Google Maps – authentication and mapping (policies.google.com/privacy).
- Apple Sign-In / Apple In-App Purchase – authentication and subscription billing (apple.com/legal/privacy).
Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users or the public.
Business transfers: if Hobii is involved in a merger or acquisition, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Uploaded Content

Patterns, videos, and other content you upload are stored securely via Supabase. Content you post to clubs or public feeds is visible to other users. You retain ownership of your content; by uploading it you grant us a limited licence to store, display, and distribute it within the Service.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

Hobii offers a subscription at £/$ 7.99 per month, billed through Apple In-App Purchase or Stripe. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple or Stripe; we receive confirmation of payment status but not your full card details. Subscription management and cancellation is available through your Apple ID account settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us at the address below. We may retain certain information for legal compliance or fraud prevention purposes after deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

Hobii is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

Access to a copy of your personal data.
Correction of inaccurate data.
Deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten").
Restriction or objection to processing.
Data portability.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
